Easy Baked Brie with Honey and Candied Walnuts

If there is cheese, I will come.

So serious, you guys.

Whenever I see a cheese platter at a party I am the guest that just lingers around eating with the rest of the cheese lovin' folks until dinner is ready (or the cheese is gone). There will be attempts to walk away, but somehow I always end up right back at the cheese. It's like this force draws me in and whispers in my ear must eat the cheese...

Ok, force, you don't have to tell me twice.

There is no way I could EVER say no to this ooey gooey Baked Brie with Honey and Candied Walnuts. SO much cheesy warm goodness. Grab a hunk of crusty bread and dig right on in. The candied walnuts and rosemary bring this delicious appetizer to the next level by combining sweet and savory with the creamy, smooth melted brie.

And it's one of the easiest things to make ever! No complicated steps and just 10 minutes in the oven.

DO IT.

Easy Baked Brie with Honey and Maple Candied Walnuts

Prep Time: 2 minutes / Cook Time: 20-23 minutes
Total Time: 25 minutes
Type: Appetizer
Servings: Varies

Ingredients

For the Walnuts
2 cups halved walnuts
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Brie
8-12 ounce wheel of Brie- (the ideal brie for baking is a younger cheese and one labeled "double cream". Older, "triple cream" cheese may turn out a little too runny -still delicious, but more difficult to eat and harder to keep contained- If there's any confusion, just ask your local cheese person.)
1/4 cup honey
1 sprig fresh rosemary
Fresh bread, toasted, for serving
Crackers, for serving
Grapes, for serving
Maple candied walnuts (see recipe above)

Instructions

For the Walnuts

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium low heat. Add the walnuts, maple syrup and salt to the skillet and stir. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until walnuts are completely coated and nuts are golden. Keep an eye on them as you do not want them to burn!
  2. Remove nuts from the skillet and spread out on a piece of parchment paper to prevent clumping.

For the Brie

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2.  Place brie in the middle of a large baking sheet and drizzle the top with honey. Add a spring of rosemary to the top and bake in the oven for 10 minutes, or until the honey is bubbling and cheese round is soft to the touch.
  3. Remove from the oven and transfer to a shallow bowl or cheeseboard. Serve with candied walnuts, fresh rosemary, crusty bread, crackers, and fresh fruit.

Enjoy!
