Cinnamon Roll Mocha Latte and A Holiday Gift that Keeps on Giving

Thanksgiving has come and gone; this can only mean one thing, guys...

Christmas is coming (and it's almost here!).

Ok, that's definitely not the only thing, there are lots of other stuff too (like Hanukkah and anniversaries and birthdays), but you know what I'm saying. Besides, it's been my mission to turn my house into the North Pole this year, so please don't hate me if I talk of nothing but Christmas for the next 25 days, it's not my fault.

Oh wait, yes it is.

Anyway, the holidays can be crazy. For some, this crazy can be good, bad, or maybe a little of both (sometimes even at the same time).

For me, the holidays mean family, food and any distraction to get me through the dark cold months. And, like many families out there celebrating Christmas, it also means gift giving. You guys, I love giving gifts. It's one of my favorite things ever. However, I am THE WORST at thinking of gift ideas. Seriously, unless it's my toddler I'm shopping for, I never know what to give.

Thank goodness for coffee. Specifically, Dunkin' Donuts coffee.

First and foremost, the holidays are exhausting and usually require double duty coffee on hand, all the time (I KNOW I'm not alone on this one). And, it's not just for me; but for anyone visiting, too. So I like to stock up.

Just in case I do run out (sometimes I forget my priorities and it happens), I always know I can run out to my local Walmart to pick up more.

And, I don't know about your Walmart, but mine is open 24 hours. Thank you, Walmart, you may just save my sanity at 3am one day.

I have fond memories of Dunkin' Donuts bakeries when I was little girl.  Every Sunday, after church, my family and I would walk across the street and get donuts. They were my favorite. I still remember the smell when I walked through the door. I don't eat donuts much these days, but I do drink lots and lots of coffee, including Dunkin' Donuts. As I was sipping on the Cinnamon Coffee Roll flavor the other morning, I started thinking about gifts. I always give PJs to my husband and some other family members, but my imagination stops there. Well, coffee to the rescue! It hit me- coffee goes PERFECTLY with jammies and a fun coffee mug.

It's like the three were meant to be together.

And so, just like that, the perfect holiday gift (that keeps on giving and giving and giving) was born. Holiday gift conundrum, solved. You're welcome :)

You can also write a fun little coffee drink recipe and include it in the gift. If this is a gift for a parent or (older) child, they will love it! (I still have hand written recipes from my Grandmother) Don’t worry about the recipe, I have that part covered- except for the hand written part, that’s all you :)

Cinnamon Roll Mocha Latte

Prep Time: 2 minutes / Cook Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 7 minutes
Yield: 1-2 servings
Type: Drink, Coffee, Gift Idea

1 cup brewed Dunkin' Donuts Bakery Series Cinnamon Coffee Roll Ground Coffee
1/2 - 3/4 cup milk (cow, soy, almond)
1 -2 tablespoons dark chocolate, chopped
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Whipped cream (for topping)

In a small saucepan whisk together all the ingredients (except for the whipped cream) over medium heat until chocolate has dissolved and liquid just starts to boil. Remove from heat, pour into your favorite mug and top with whipped cream and cinnamon (if desired).  Best served hot.

So now that I have one solid holiday gift idea in place, I better start stocking up on some coffee (plus a little extra, you know, just in case). And since every penny counts, go grab this Dunkin’ Donuts ibotta and save up to $1 on select varieties!
