Hey Everyone. Today I am teaming up with Albertsons/Safeway to help bring awareness and raise money to help fight childhood hunger in America. Please consider shopping at your local Safeway/Albertsons and help today.
Did you know that one in five children in America live in households without consistent access to adequate food? A staggering 20%!
I had no idea.
Today I wanted to share with you a campaign taking place at your local Safeway/Albertsons store called Hunger Is. Taking place between September 1st-30th, the purpose of this campaign is to help aid in the relief of childhood hunger across America. But that's not all. The Hunger Is campaign is also designed to raise awareness, volunteer hours, and funds that will improve health outcomes for hungry children and their families.
Pretty awesome, right?!
Now that you have an idea what the campaign is all about, you might be wondering how you can help?
There are two ways.
First, all you need to do is shop. Head over to your local Safeway/Albertsons store and buy specialty marked items throughout the store; each item purchased provides a free meal to a hungry child or family in need. Every designated item/product purchased supports “Hunger Is”, helping connect hungry kids in our neighborhoods to healthy food.
The amazing brands listed below have partnered with the Safeway Foundation to help fight childhood hunger,
- Con Agra- Marie Calendar's, Healthy Choice, Bertolli's, and PF Chang's Brands
The second way you can help is by donating directly at the register when you are checking out (only at select stores).
The other morning I decided to help the Hunger Is campaign by doing what I am fortunate enough to do every other day...eat. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even drinking a cup of dark Lipton tea helped fight hunger!
Not sure what to make? Here are some ideas below...
Help feed a hungry family and head out to your local Safeway/Albertsons and cook up something good.
